About Bryant & Stratton College

Bryant & Stratton College originated in 1854 when Buffalo brothers Dr. John and Henry Bryant partnered with their sister’s husband, Henry Dwight Stratton, to create the National Business College. By 1858, it had started the first bookkeeping course and formed the “Ladies Department.” Twelve years later, penmanship expert Platt Rogers Spencer joined its growing faculty. In 1889, Bryant & Stratton launched one of America’s first correspondence programs. During World War II, it became a Northeast chain of over 50 career-oriented schools. Bryant & Stratton’s reach further expanded when online education began in 1997. The early 2000s brought the addition of bachelor’s degrees and regional accreditation. In 2014, Bryant & Stratton College announced new credit pathways for prior learning and experience. Worth $100 million, Bryant & Stratton now enrolls 13,803 Bobcats at 19 locations and online as a for-profit APC member based in western New York. On June 22, 2017, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) voted to reaffirm Bryant & Stratton College through 2025 after its Level II self-study evaluation report presented by the 25-year CEO veteran, Dr. Francis Felser, who earned the Canisius Distinguished Alumni Award. Located 379 miles southeast via Interstate 476 in Philly, this elite eight-territory Atlantic Coast accreditor is authorized by the U.S. Secretary of Education to check Bryant & Stratton’s 21 associate, seven bachelor’s, and 14 diploma options. The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) offered initial accreditation in Spring 2014. The Medical Assisting Associate is approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational Programs (CAAHEP). Bryant & Stratton College is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) through 2024 too.

Bryant & Stratton College Application Requirements

Admission to Bryant & Stratton College is deemed “minimally difficult” by Peterson’s since Syracuse accepted 94 percent of the 254 Fall 2017 applicants, but Buffalo only okayed 75 percent of its 305 candidates. First-year Bobcats must finish a state-approved high school diploma or homeschooling program. Nontraditional students scoring at least 500 on each TASC section for the General Education Diploma qualify. The Associate Degree in Nursing seeks minimum placement scores of 72 for English and 50 for Math. Minimum grades aren’t listed, except for the PTA School that demands 2.5 GPAs. Secondary chemistry and biology courses are also prerequisite. Online associate students can earn up to 75 percent of credits by transfer from regionally accredited colleges with grades above “C-.” Online RN-BSN entrants will need active nursing licensure, clean background checks, and accredited diplomas. International students are welcomed with a minimum 500 TOEFL pBT, 173 TOEFL cBT, or 6.0 ASPECT score. Online Blackboard courses require having Mozilla Firefox 23 or higher with Adobe Flash 9, QuickTime 7, and Acrobat 7.

Bryant & Stratton College considers online associate applicants year-round for enrollment dates every 7.5 weeks. Anytime, interested students can use the E-App portal to file the free BSC Application online with a valid social security number. Official transcripts are sent electronically using Parchment or mailed to 465 Main Street Suite 400 in Buffalo, NY 14203. For optional test scores, use SAT code 3328 or ACT code 2676. Tuition and Financial Aid

For 2017-18, Bryant & Stratton College charged mean full-time undergrad tuition of $7,191 per semester and $14,383 annually. Plus, BSC budgets $2,800 for off-campus room and board.
