About Arkansas Northeastern College
Arkansas Northeastern College originated on December 17, 1974, when locals approved a tax hike to fund Mississippi County Community College. The next February, Governor Dale Bumpers chose Dr. Harry Smith as president to lead an inaugural class of 800 at the old Sudbury School. In 1976, its current 80-acre campus off Route 77 in Blytheville was erected in Forbes’ 37th best state. Notably, MCCC received the country’s first $6.3 million grant from the Department of Energy for solar prototypes in Spring 1977. Fully accredited in 1980, it merged with the Cotton Boll Technical Institute four decades later. On July 1, 2003, the Arkansas Northeastern College name was officially adopted. By 2014, ANC had launched an Online Degrees Division atop statewide centers from Leachville to Paragould and Osceola. Arkansas Northeastern College Application Requirements
Starting at Arkansas Northeastern College is classified “least selective” by the U.S. News & World Report because 100 percent of the 524 Fall 2013 entrants were openly enrolled. First-year Suns picking online associate majors must complete a core high school curriculum or submit a minimum 410 GED score. The Board of Trustees only considers GPAs of 2.5 or higher for scholarship consideration. Unconditional admission requires a minimum of 19 Reading and 21 ACT mark. Scoring at least 980 on the New SAT or 1330 on the Old SAT would count. Grades as low as 11-15 are reviewed for conditional prep admission though. Transfers are welcomed with six to 45 credits graded “C-” or higher from regionally accredited institutions. Undergrads pursuing the Arkansas Course Transfer System (ACTS) pathways should maintain GPAs over 2.0. Non-native English speakers also need a 500 or greater on the TOEFL paper exam.

For 2018-19, Arkansas Northeastern College charged full-time Mississippi County residents $1,260 each term. Out-of-county Arkansans paid $1,440 by semester. Non-resident associate tuition was $2,340 per term full-time. Note that certain Missouri and Tennessee students qualify for in-state rates. Part-time online study costs just $70 to $130 per credit. Add-ons include the $11 technology fee, $25 registration fee, and $40 computer lab fee per course. The Internet course fee is currently $20. Health care programs have a $25 liability insurance fee.
