North Hennepin Community College offers two-year degrees and certificate programs to its students. It focuses on providing students the transferrable credits they need to eventually enroll at a four-year university. In addition to associate degrees, students can pursue one of 12 bachelor’s degrees at North Hennepin Community College via a partnership the college has with regional universities in Minnesota.
According to the college, the most popular certificates awarded include those in small business accounting, application programming, and business principles. The most popular majors include liberal arts, business administration, pre-engineering, computer science, and pre-nursing. North Hennepin Community College is located in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and has operated since 1966. The college also boasts some degree programs that have earned programmatic accreditations. For example, the business programs are approved by the Accrediting Council for Business Schools & Programs.
The college’s concurrent enrollment programs are approved by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships. The medical laboratory technician program is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences. The nursing program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. The Minnesota Board of Nursing has approved the nursing degree.
North Hennepin Community College Application Requirements
The application process takes six steps from the submission of the application through the payment of tuition. Steps required include submitting the college’s admission application, applying for financial aid, taking placement tests, and participating in an online orientation session. Students will then register for classes, pay their tuition and fees, and purchase books. Students may also apply as non-degree seeking students and will use a special application to enroll.
When students submit their online application, they will need to also send a $20 application fee, which is waived for anyone serving in the military, as well as military veterans. Students must also have their high school transcripts sent to the college, as well as complete an immunization record form. Transfer students must additionally send official college transcripts, and students who have earned a GED must send proof of possessing that document.
Tuition and Financial Aid
