- The AAS in Business Administration offers two different specialization tracks, which are the marketing/management option and the accounting option. The marketing/management specialization prepares students with the knowledge and skills to pursue a manager or marketing position in a company or business. Students will learn how to create marketable business strategies and apply them in an internship opportunity or a business plan at the end of the program. The accounting specialization educates students on necessary accounting and tax software practices and procedures to apply to a career in business. Students will gain in-depth knowledge and experience in payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, taxation, spreadsheets, and databases. At the end of the program, students in the accounting concentration may sit for the national Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation exam. The capstone will help prepare accounting students for this exam.
- The AAS in Early Childhood Education is centered around teaching children and influencing their success and achievements. Students will be taught evidence-based knowledge and be prepared to work with children and families. Upon graduation, individuals will be able to create a daily plan for children, develop useful learning activities, and grasp the difficulties that may arise and turn them into a positive learning experience. In addition, students can also choose to earn hands-on experience by being placed into a field position on campus. The position takes place at the Family Lab and Nature Exploration Center and entails educating young children and families in nature-based learning and activities.
- The AAS in Mental Health Technology focuses on teaching individuals about serious mental illnesses. Professors in this program guide students through the necessary topics of extended, common, and constantly occurring mental illnesses. Before graduating, students will also have gained the required knowledge to earn the Mental Health Rehabilitation Technical/Community certificate. Graduates of the program usually achieve career positions as intensive case managers, community integration leaders, assertive community treatment specialists, skill development specialists, support services managers, and more.
- The AA in Liberal Studies is a degree program created to help guide students to explore careers, educational interests, and prepare them for a future at a 4-year college or university. The program is very flexible, and students are able to choose courses that align with their personal, career and educational objectives. In addition, students enrolled in this program can take full advantage of the statewide program that guarantees acceptance to any public university in Maine. Upon completion of the program, students will have strong knowledge and skills in general education, and they will be fully prepared to go on to pursue a bachelor’s degree.
- The AAS in Pulp & Paper Technology provides students with basic math, science, and communication skills as well as a unique and in-depth study of the fundamentals of pulp and paper technology. Students will gain an understanding of computers, electrical components, paper making, pulping technology, and safety hazards. The goal of this program is to train more workers in the field to meet the high demands of the pulp and paper sector in Maine, New England, and throughout the United States. Graduates of the program will be fully competent and ready to pursue roles in the pulp and paper industry.
