Getting into Cerro Coso Community College is classified “least selective” by the U.S. News & World Report because 100 percent of the 1,650 Fall 2013 entrants enjoyed open access. First-year Coyotes still must be academically prepared with an approved secondary diploma or GED certificate. Passing the 3.5-hour California High School Proficiency Exam would qualify. Freshmen generally must be at least 18 years old. Specific grades aren’t listed to ensure equal opportunity. However, maintaining a cumulative 2.0 GPA or better will help avoid probationary status. Foreign applicants must prove English ability with a minimum TOEFL scores of 500 pBT or 173 cBT. For California residency status, individuals must have lived within the state for 12 straight months. Though fully optional, CCCC undergrads present a median 950 SAT and 17 ACT score. Associate transfers are welcomed with up to 45 non-remedial credits graded “C-” or greater. The Honors Program only considers entrants with GPAs above 3.25.
Cerro Coso Community College conveniently has rolling, year-round admission for U.S. undergrads.
