Bryn Athyn College of the New Church offers an Associate of Arts (AA) program that students can finish online. Students must complete 62 credits and take at least 33 of those credits at the college. Students can commute to the campus if they live nearby or choose to live in a dorm room. Most students can complete those credits in three semesters of full-time work. The college also requires that they take general education courses and maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
The core requirements for this program include nine credits of religion classes, six credits of writing courses and three credits of fine arts and social science classes. All religion classes include internships and church services. At least six of those credits must come from religious doctrine courses. The college designed these programs to meet the needs of students who do not want to earn a bachelor’s degree. They have the option of remaining in the college and entering one of the Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) programs too.
Students must choose from one of the 14 emphasis areas that the college offers. Those areas include art, biology, history, religion and social science. A pre-professional track is available in nursing too, which prepares students for enrolling in a bachelor’s program to become licensed nurses. It features classes such as Introduction to Biology for Nursing Students, Anatomy and Physiology I and II and General Chemistry I and II. The religion track asks students to pick a course in the scriptures and a minimum of 15 credits of religion classes at the 200-level and higher. Students who choose the building arts track need to take Bryn Athyn National Historic Landmarks, Building Arts Foundation, Art History, and Building Materials. Bryn Athyn College of the New Church is a private college in Pennsylvania that uses the name Bryn Athyn College. It got its name from the Bryn Athyn neighborhood, which is an affluent suburb located near Philadelphia. The college opened in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as the Academy of the New Church because of its affiliation with that religious organization. It offered training for ministers and emphasized the needs of the New Church. Students took classes on those teachings and learned how to work with parishioners in the Church. Known as a seminary, the academy later added high school classes. When it received a donation from a local man, the college added two-year programs. The success of that curriculum led to the addition of four-year programs and helped the academy become a college in 1922 called the Academy of the New Church. It finally became Bryn Athyn College in 1997.
Charles Eliot was a landscape architect who worked with the Olmsted Brothers and helped design the landscape of the college in the late 19th century. Some of his original work is still visible today. The campus is also home to many historic landmarks, which helped make it a tourist attraction. Bryn Athyn College is one of the smallest colleges in Pennsylvania with an enrollment of around 330 students.

Bryn Athyn College has institutional accreditation from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).
